Re: How do I identify the oil?

This is an old post but I had to chime in - We regularly toss in a quart of synthetic or synthetic blend to the standard change charge on higher mileage vehicles - something about the synthetic swells the piston rings a bit and helps compression

Re: oil cooler manifold and line removal

So just to get this straight: Every one, including me, has had leaky oil cooler lines. The oil cooler and lines can be deleted, especially if you already have a trans cooler (I do) After deleting the oil cooler, you should run pure synthetic oil to prevent high temp breakdown. What about synthetic/d...

Re: keep losing power to stereo (wiring related)

did you ever get this figured out? I had same problem, except I had an ooold kenwood tape deck that worked fine with the same wiring setup. Put in the new kendwood and the sound cut in and out even though the disc would keep playing. After putting in a better ground wire and that not working, I cut ...

Re: Lost Headlight Ground

I didn't know ground circuits existed until I talked to a fleet mechanic friend of mine, who is hopefully getting me a new multifunction switch. The DRL relay seems to be working properly, but should I try replacing that first before the multi switch? (I would have to disconnect my new ground first ...

Lost Headlight Ground

Hey guys - 2000 Astro RWD - No headlights, no brights. Checked power to bulbs, no ground. Used scotch lock on one headlight ground (yellow) wire and grounded direct to frame. Now all 4 lights come on. pull turn signal to switch brights and nothing happens. All 4 lights stay on. No hi-beam display li...

Fuel Pump Electrical connector?

Great site guys - So a mechanic friend of mine gave me a Delco fuel pump for my 2000 Astro knowing I was getting up to 100,000 miles. Told me the reason they go out so predictably was not the pump design itself but the electrical connector - the connection goes bad after awhile, the pump is starved ...
