Re: This kind of turns my stomach

On the old board someone posted a link to an article where a study of traffic fatalities was done based on the vehicles involved. The Astro / Safari vans had the lowest fatality rate of ANY vehicle. Period. You might not end up in one piece, but you'll likely live to tell about it. I'm sure I could ...

Re: 5.7 swap: help please

Re: V-8 Radiator. Help me Please

Shroud, shroud, shroud. Cheap, simple, very effective. Triple confirm that your Stewart pump turns the same way as the stock van pump. I too bought a Stewart high flow pump that was the correct application for the truck my motor came from. The pump turned the wrong way! Get the parts store to compar...

Just turn the hub until there is space in behind to pull the stud out.

Re: 11" drum backing plate - Mystery Solved

Wagons were a different size than the sedans. Roadmaster won't work. I urge you to look for a 92-94 Caprice sedan.
My van had abs and the swap has no effect on it what so ever. The only thing you need to do is drill a hole for the sensor wire to pass through the backing plate.

I was running General Grabber UHP's on my v8 Astro. Reaper has them now. I liked them performance and looks wise. Good in the rain. Useless in snow.

Re: leaky astro

The classic windshield leak on these vans is often caused by the exterior plastic trim that fits into the slot between the glass and the roof. For whatever reason they seem to shrink with age and allow water to pool in the groove above the windshield. Given time, presto, you've got yourself a leak. ...
