Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

RINNY, so I will be very curious how this works out for you! Few questions: Does the np236 bolt right up to the 5.7 and / or would a tougher np246 have worked? It seems that the express guys have not figured out how to make this work yet, based on your intel does it seem that this could be an optio...

Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

It lives!! The transfer case is now shifting into all 4 modes and has been driven on very soft sand. I am having a shifting problem in 4L. The transmission does not seem to want to shift out of 1st gear, it does on some occasions but not as it should. Progress but still not completely rite. YAY!! F...

Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

The other problem was to do with my V8 swap and the computer that I used. The motor was out of a 2002 chevy express. You do not want to use this motor and computer because of the way the transmission talks to the PCM. In my 2003 Astro the data went thru the PCM, but in the 2002 express it goes direc...

Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

Well new encoder motor works!! I had a frozen encoder motor, a new run of wire with no continuity so that run got replaced and a wire pulled out of a pin on the orange TCCM connector. I now have 2H, Auto 4WD, 4H, I will know if I have 4L as soon as I can roll the van in neutral (it should engage). G...

Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

Have not gotten that far as of yet. I have a 2003 so it might be different. I wired the tccm and switch just as he said to. I believe there is a wire coming from the fuse box already on my set up. I will let you know. I wired the relay (to fool the TCCM into thinking there is a front axel actuator) ...

Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

My encoder motor was frozen solid. It was new too. Got a replacement coming from amazon for no charge, it will be here tomorrow or Saturday. Had one of my newly run wires check out with no continuity, brand new run and it had a break in it, geesh. Also had a new wire pull out of the pin on the orang...

Re: How to wire up a NP 236 in place of a 136.

If you can find it on ESI that you are downloading, maybe you can share it? It downloaded after all... Here's the schematic for a 2005 Blazer with NV236... It appears to have the same connectors on the PCM as we do and again confirms Pin 16 on Connector 2 (Green) Could this be why my 236 is stuck i...

5.7L AWD Motor mounts needed

I thought I had the correct mounts but they are for a RWD van. JTR does not make the AWD mounts anymore. Does any one have a set or a drawing?

Captn. Crunch wrote:I could be wrong but I don't think those will work with the 5.7. I might be mistaken but a quick glance online tells me the 5.3 is the ls motor.
You are right. The 2002 chevy express motor is a 5.7L 350 L31 also known as an L1-E.
