okay i changed my IAC and no change i narrowed it down to one of my modules the ignition control module which is under the cap or the ESC module i am gonna get the ignition control module tested first here in a couple of days then i will post back!!

did you press the gas pedel to the floor and try to crank it? cause i had the same issue went out to start my van it just turned over and only cough once then i press the gass to the floor and cranked it started up like brand new weird!! never did it again. i did smell fuel when it started.

no it did not solve my idle problem and yes i left the air filter in and the air cleaner is flipped but makes a good seal so the air only goes through the air filter the pipe from the exhasut manifold to air cleaner is long gone but on the idle issue i am now leaning towards my coolant temp. sensor ...

what do you all think about flipping the air cleaner lid on a 1992 astro with TBI?? cause i did and it feels like it woke the motor up and is faster and sounds great!! it don't even sound like a 4.3 liter v6 sounds like a v-8!!

update: i changed out my idle air control valve and it did not fix my low,rough idle problem when warmed up. it did fix my 3-4min high idle which was like 1500rpm for 3-4min. so i am thinking that it is my coolant temp. sensor for the computer or the o2 sensor.

i am just wondering does the oil plug suppose to have a gasket? it does not leak but i also have a 1989 chevy truck z-71 pack. with a 350 it has a gasket on the oil plug it does not leak either.??

i was just going to replace it cause when the van is warmed up i beleive the idle air control valve motor stops working cause when the van is fully warmed up i turn the a/c on and the idle drops and does not go up but the engine continus to runs okay.
