Re: Removing decals
A heat gun does work best, but you'll have to wait for that Okanagan sunshine.

Re: Removing decals
It's paint on my '91. I know that cause it's peeling off like the rest of the paint on the van.

Re: Removing decals
Not too sure what decals your talking about. If it is the black paint around the windows that make it appear as though it is one big window down the side, that's paint, not a decal.

Re: Anyone know the sub-frames interchange??.
I thought(and maybe wrongly)stuff like the Case construction equipment(back-hoe's etc)where painted in powder coating.I am looking for tough and durability and that is the only reasoning behind considering the power coat process. Thanks for the heads up on powder coating guys. They don't powder coa...

Re: Valve Noise?
My ex-wife drove my hotrod at 3/4 throttle with the brake on, but not in the exciting fun way that yours did, it was more in a smelly not so fun kind of way.
Nice bikes by the way, and welcome to the site.

Re: Valve Noise?
I would doubt it's your rocker arms, more than likely it's the lifters that have failed. You can put new ones in but then I would sell it asap. Probably time for a rebuild or a V8.

Re: whine sound
Thats the whole idea Smilie.
Disengage the pump and if the noise persists its his tranny going south, if the noise disappears then its the p/s pump.
Simple.

Re: whine sound
Just off the top of my head, the Tsawwassen ferry terminal causeway comes to mind. It's a dead end highway with no sideroads to worry about and you will have a cool breeze off the ocean to help with the engine temperature. If you get out there early or late enough you should be all by yourself and y...

Re: whine sound
It's the same left and right, but only while in motion. So the sound is different left to right while sitting still? Ya, difficult to steer but not impossible. It is not that hard to steer once your moving. You can damage your steering box without having p/s pump hooked up but that takes hundreds o...

Re: whine sound
A bearing will produce a cyclic sound when going bad, it will not make a steady noise unless it is completely shot and you would know if it's completely shot. Your wheel would be flopping around. To determine if it is your p/s pump, drop your accessory drive belt and take it for "a quick drive&...

New or not, I would be taking a look at those front bearings.
Even new ones can fail.

I would guess something around the same vintage would work but not being a 4x4 guy, I really don't know. Someone with more knowledge than I will chime in soon.
