Traveling nightmare

Post by JTalley »

A few friends wanted to go to the movies. I didn't have the cash, but they volunteered to pay for my ticket and the gas we would need. I figured I had nothing to lose.

Heading out, it became obvious that the cap and rotor that I need to replace was getting worse. At our first stop (Davis), I got a code- "oxygen sensor running rich." We kept on going at that point only because they put the gas in the tank already and I couldn't pay them back.

I had detailed directions on how to get there- without them I would be completely lost. I also had directions to another thing we wanted to do. Once again, I couldn't find that without them.

My friend was supposed to read them to me. However, they all thought it would be funny to give me bad directions. We were supposed to take a certain exit and turn left. They gave me the wrong exit and told me to turn right. Then they said that we were supposed to turn left (after driving nearly a mile in the wrong direction) but they never told me we used the wrong exit. At this point, I wasn't aware of the exit thing. I only found that out MUCH later. They then tore up the directions into tiny pieces, opened the slider and threw them out ON THE HIGHWAY. While we were still MOVING. I was ticked off at this point, but still trying to keep my cool. We pulled into a parking lot, and I asked someone for directions. He was describing them to me, telling me exactly where to go, when I suddenly heard the unmistakeable sound of my van firing up. I looked over and they were leaving! )>) To say that I blew up is an understatement. I announced (loudly) that they were stealing my car and ran after them screaming as loud as I could. They ended up stopping a bit later, and I proceeded to lose my head. They all thought it was the funniest thing. We made it to the movies (late for the matinee, so they had to pay about $60 total for tickets), and had to wait for the later showing for about two hours. We went to McDonald's to waste this time eating and playing on the Touch2Plays there. We went to the movies after that, and when we began to load up, it was cold. I brought blankets, so I was in the back getting them when they started the van AGAIN and locked me out. Then they kept turning off and starting the van again once or twice. At this point, all my patience was gone, and after I managed to get them to let me in we went straight back home.

I don't intend to get that group together again for a road trip. NEVER AGAIN.

:yikes: I hate to think how your enemies treat you. You should have tied a few of them to the front end for the drive home.

Your keys, go in, your pocket....

Traveling with a bunch of BMX punks taught me that very quick.

After the first time they started the van, I put my keys in my pocket.

That didn't stop anyone.

I'm still not 100% positive what I need to put the switch on and I don't wanna mess anything up. I'm looking up fuel pump wire diagrams right now.

I have always just rode around with my really good friends and never had a problem...

Me, Myself, and I.

Sure, their may still be arguments, but we don't drive off without each other either.

I thought I knew these people. It's like the vacuum controlled heater just sucked out everyone's maturity as soon as they got in. :muhaha:
