Funny thing was even when i wasn't running code people would sometimes pull over to let me by. Must look scary in a rear veiw mirrior. :yikes:
I had an ex police caprice 93 9c1 that was blacked out in dark primer and tinted windows back in California. I never had to fight rush hour traffic because everyone would move over for me. I think it was typical Cali paranoia :peep:

When I ran code in the white one ('96 2wd with 8" lift) people always moved over right away. Something about having wig-wag headlights blasting in your rear window, I guess. Funny thing was even when i wasn't running code people would sometimes pull over to let me by. Must look scary in a rear veiw mirrior. :yikes:

Ditto.
Dude you have a lot of lifted rides!!! Post photos of EACH one please :)

Sorry, I have been in Colorado for a few weeks with no online. I actually only have two lifted Astro/Safari vans at present. The list just helps me keep track of the ones i have owned. I'll try to post pictures of each one as i get the chance.

97CargoCrawler : I am curious how high (inch) is your final setup ? (Roof to road) ?
Nice setup, really looks cool.
Thanks
Ben

Thanks Ben.

Hmmm....I'll have to measure it. The front end has really been sagging lately - it's super spongy too. The cargo springs I put in a year ago are definitely worn in, and maybe worn out already. The goal was 6" but it felt more like 10" when I was done. Of course the larger tires and an empty cargo van had something to do with that. I think you might get a bit more lift out of new coils and leafs than advertised. I have 2" body blocks, 4" lift spindles and "cargo coils" in front. 2" shackles and 4" HD springs in back with 31" tires all around.

All these 4inch plus vans are killing me. All I wanted was a 2inch to give it a better stance but now, all these pic's. Must fight.... not to buy.... a bigger lift ](*,)

That is how I started ... 2" lift and then one off-road trip later I started working on more lift :p The addiction may cost less than crack but it is more addictive than crack.

Weird. I thought I posted photos to this post. I will post up some tonight when I get links fixed on my website. Dont know why that is down as well.

Well Dang! I had no idea this thread was going on under my nose.
"Trouble" has the 4-5" Overland lift. Had to trim and bash to fit the front tires and the back currently rub a bit when axle is flexed.

So people...when is someone gonna come out with a rock solid lift that doesnt involve more height than about 5in. I seem to never quite have it feel bomb-proof (ball joints solid etc). The front ends are pretty easy to "encourage" out of true. I know the SAS needs several more inches to clear the oil pan (or something like that), and I don't really want more lift. How about one of you fabricator-types finds a way to mount long travel IFS from a full size chevy truck... [-o<
