Re: ASTROS IN SNOW!!
I would kill for a good heavy Oswego snowfall. These single Cm daily skiffs are killing me. All I do is sit in my office dispatching salt trucks for 4-6 hrs then doing paperwork then going to sleep to do it again in a few hours. If we get a good fall my boss dispatches and I get to go plow. I want to plow not sit in the friggen office.

Man come down here and show the county how to shovel snow. They massively suck down here. I thinks it's because we dont get that much snow normally there are still roads a week later that you could easily slide off, They really dropped the ball lolpotskie wrote:I would kill for a good heavy Oswego snowfall. Re: ASTROS IN SNOW!!
I doubt you can say they dropped the ball...do you guys even have real snow removal equipment? Most of the reason we pay some of the highest property taxes in the country is to pay for the massive fleet of snow removal equipment. Then in the spring they use the same equipment to repair the roads that are destroyed. We get an average of 170"+ per year and you guys in VA probably average 20" or less. Hard to justify Billions of dollars of equipment you hardly ever use.Rvamobiledetailing wrote:Man come down here and show the county how to shovel snow. They massively suck down here. On a side note, we are getting some lake effect today! It started over night and we have 3" or so already. Supposed to snow all day so hopefully I'll be able to justify putting the plow on.

Re: ASTROS IN SNOW!!
The City of Victoria sold all of there snow removal equipment a long time ago because, well, it hardly ever snows here and when it does it usually melts before they have a chance to plow it. The city does lay down "ice melt" and except for the Provincial hiways the city's snow removal is contracted out to the private sector.
We have had some snow falls that have stuck around but everyone just stays home when that happens.
Ah yes, it's the Island life for me.
